“It’s too expensive” Cho Kyu-sung’s transfer to Mainz, virtually ended

The possibility that ‘hot potato’ Cho Gyu-seong (25, Jeonbuk), who knocked on the door of Europe, will remain in Jeonbuk is increasing.

The German daily ‘Kicker’ reported on the 15th 안전놀이터 (local time) that the recruitment of Cho Kyu-sung was sold in an article pointing out the current attacking situation of Mainz 05, one of the three teams connected to Cho Kyu-sung.

‘Kicker’, titled ‘Too expensive: Cho Kyu-sung’s transfer has virtually ended’, revealed that Mainz had virtually abandoned the recruitment of Cho Kyu-sung for financial reasons.

Mainz coach Bo Svensson expressed his intention to use promising players such as homegrown players Brajan Gruda (18) and Nelson Wiper (17).

Lee Jae-seong’s team, Mainz, is said to have offered Jeonbuk an amount close to 3 million euros (approximately 4.03 billion won).

However, 3 million euros was far short of the amount that Jeonbuk wanted for Cho Kyu-seong’s ransom.

Scottish media are reporting that Celtic, which has been eager to recruit Cho Kyu-sung, is also in an mood to withdraw.

Cho Kyu-sung wants to advance to Europe this winter, but Jeonbuk is known to prefer a summer transfer.
