Kim Eun-joong’s third goalkeeper, Kim Jong-hoon (19, Korea University), has revealed his ambitions.
The Korea Football Association published an interview with Kim Jung-hoon, the third goalkeeper of the South Korea U-20 national team led by head coach Kim Eun-joong (44), on Friday.
The South Korea U-20 team, led by head coach Kim Eun-jung, defeated Nigeria 1-0 in extra time in the quarterfinals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup Argentina 2023 at the Santiago del Estero Stadium in Argentina on Friday morning.
With the win, South Korea advanced to the quarterfinals for the second consecutive time after finishing as runners-up at the 2019 tournament.
Goalkeeper Kim Jung-hoon, who wore the No. 12 shirt for the tournament, is the third goalkeeper on the U-20 team and has yet to make an appearance.
“I’m honored to be part of the U-20 national team. I’m disappointed that I didn’t get to play, but I’m happy and honored that the team made it to the semifinals,” he said.
“I know how hard my teammates 메이저놀이터 worked and how much sweat they put in, because I’ve been with this team since last year and I know the process they went through to prepare. It’s meaningful to see this come to fruition,” said Kim.
When asked if it felt real to reach the semifinals, he said, “I always imagined it. Now that I’m here, it doesn’t feel real. It’s a different experience.”
When asked what he would like to do most when he returns to Korea, Kim said, “My chef comes over and cooks Korean food. I want to watch movies that can only be enjoyed in Korea, and I want to grow as a team through the experience of this competition.”
In conclusion, Kim said, “We still have a lot to work on. I want to work harder and improve, become a player with both skill and character, and open up opportunities for Korean goalkeepers to go abroad,” he said.
