Lee Yul-ye, 3 RBI, one-man show, Korea defeats Australia 3-0

The Korean national team achieved a hard-fought victory in the third match of the World Youth Championships.

On the 4th, in the opening round of the 31st World Youth Baseball Championship held at the Intercontinental Baseball Stadium in Taichung, Taiwan, the national team defeated Australia 3-0, taking the series record to 2 wins and 1 loss.

However, the national team had to continue a frustrating trend throughout the game. They had a hard time recording only one hit against Australia until the third inning. Rather, Australia was ahead 3-1 in terms of hits until the fourth inning.

The frustrating flow of the game was resolved at once. This is because in the bottom of the 4th inning, with one out and bases loaded, the youngest member of the national team’s batting lineup, Lee Yul-ye (Gangneung High School), hit a timely hit with 3 RBIs with a double that swept out the runners. In the end, the national team scored with five walks and two hits. After Lee Yul-ye’s second hit, they were unable to record another hit, leaving the frustrated batting lineup with homework to do.토스카지노

Compared to the worrisome batting lineup, two pitchers combined for no runs on the mound. Seon-Yeop Yook (Jangchung High School), who started as a starter, allowed 5 hits in 6 2/3 innings, but recorded a whopping 8 strikeouts to record his first win. National team ace Kim Taek-yeon (Incheon High School), who appeared as the closer, also recorded a save with a perfect pitch with 2 strikeouts in 2/3 innings.

Taiwan surprisingly struggled against the underdog Czech Republic, but almost confirmed first place with a 4-1 win, while Japan defeated Venezuela 10-0. The United States, expected to compete with us for the bronze medal, won 6-4 over Panama.

The national team continues the opening round against Mexico at the same venue on the 5th. This match is expected to actually be a watershed leading to the super round. Initially, Mexico, which was ahead in the world rankings, was expected to do well, but it lost to Taiwan, Australia, and Puerto Rico, and has lost all three matches.
