SD, legacy of failed trade, recruits Otto

The San Diego Padres inherit the ‘legacy of failed trades.’

On the 8th (Korean time), the Padres announced the acquisition of right-hander Glenn Otto (27) through waiver claim from the Texas Rangers.

Otto moved from the New York Yankees to Texas through a trade at the end of July 2021.

Texas acquired Otto, Ezequiel Duran, Josh H. Smith, and Trevor Haver in exchange for the team’s leading hitter at the time, Joey Gallo and left-hander Joely Rodriguez.

Otto was expected to play a part in Texas’ starting rotation.

He also showed some growth in the 2022 season. He pitched 135 2/3 innings in 27 games, going 7-10 with a 4.64 earned run average.소닉카지노

Things are different this season. As Texas’ position decreased by recruiting a large number of veteran starters, injuries also occurred. He started the season on the injured list due to a shoulder injury.

There weren’t many opportunities. He appeared in six games, pitching 10 2/3 innings. At Triple-A Round Rock, he appeared in 10 games, pitched 29 1/3 innings, and recorded 1 win, 1 loss, and an ERA of 3.38.

First of all, he will join Triple A in his new team, but it appears that he will be able to receive opportunities in the big league for the remainder of the season.

San Diego currently has Joe Musgrove and Yu Darvish leaving due to injury, and Rich Hill is struggling. We need a pitcher to fill the rotation for the rest of the season. Auto can be a good alternative.

Meanwhile, San Diego designated outfielder Ben Gammell for assignment to make room for him on the 40-man roster.
